The Transgender’s transgression

I met a man that told me he was a woman. Yet his anatomy told me otherwise. He assured me that the phenotypic reality I was witnessing was nothing more than a cultural mirage and that beneath the surface, far deeper inside, he was truly a female. But anatomy isn't a mirage, and biologically you can dig no deeper than your innate instruction code; at our fundamental structural starting point, lying at a biochemical depth analogous to the Mariana Trench, we find our DNA. Yet, even this man’s DNA testifies against him (as does his anatomy).

It’s deeper than that he assured me.

But there is no deeper than that.

He tells me his soul is in the wrong body gender: That his soul is female, while his body is male.

With this, we have left objective science. We have left biological reality. And we have ventured into pseudo-metaphysics, and the philosophy of speculation.

So what was he saying? That his esse was incongruent with his essence? And as such, his substance was wrong? Yet this defies the meaning of these philosophical concepts. It postulates that all reality is wrong, and that the fabric of existence, and of the universe itself, are chaotic and unreliable. That we cannot trust.

Yet we can trust. We can prove. And we can rely on creation’s predictable behaviour. His logic was reminiscent of that age-old adage, “don’t trust your lying eyes”.

He tells me God made a mistake.

Ah. Now we’re getting somewhere. Someone was wrong in this equation. Either this man was mistaken in his belief that he was a woman, or God was mistaken in saying he was a man.

“He [God] created them male and female, and He blessed them and named them “mankind” on the day when they were created. (Genesis 5:2 NASV)

So God made a man and this man was in front of me telling me God was wrong. He was basically saying that God messed up, and by extension, that God didn’t know what He was doing.

Note the gravity here and take caution. It is not wise to call the Almighty a liar.

I mention this because I don’t believe that this man had taken the time to consider the ramifications of what he was saying. He didn’t fully understand the implications of his justifications. He was pointing his small insignificant mortal finger at God, GOD the CREATOR, and in his hubris, he was calling God a liar. God said he was a man, so God was a liar. Even if you stipulate that you believe God made a mistake, you are still calling Him incompetent. Adding insult to injury you are compounding your slur against God’s character, and it still doesn’t diminish your previous maligning false testimony; for whether a mistake or not, God has still assigned your biological reality and declared you a man.

Did you know that God personally made you? That your value comes from Him?

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalms 139:13-14 NIV)

You are wonderfully made. You are not a mistake. God Almighty knit you together.

“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good”. (Genesis 1:31 NIV)

You were not a mistake.

So we’ve established that this man was placing himself above God, and casting judgement upon his Creator. He called God a liar, which is to accuse God of sin.

What is sin? Sin is disobeying God. So is this man accusing God of disobeying Himself? Or is he proclaiming himself to be god, and that God Almighty is sinning by disobeying him?

Whatever his psychological state is in this transgression, the man needs to understand he is not innocent in this predicament.

A progressive feminist shouted angrily, “he’s not hurting anyone, what does it matter? Let her be!!”

But he is hurting someone. He’s hurting himself. And his relationship with God does matter. It may not matter to the progressive feminist, but it matters to the transgender, it matters to God, and it matters to me. And it’s a serious matter, for while my transgender acquaintance doesn’t really appreciate it yet, he is mocking God. By taking that which God made and declared “good”, and twisting it, he is making his life a living mockery of God's intention: and this mockery is directed with disdain towards God Himself. He is MOCKING God Almighty.

Let’s trace the etymology of that word to dig into what it’s really saying.

Mockery: “Showing your contempt by derision”.

Contempt: “Lack of respect accompanied by a feeling of intense dislike”.

Using those definitions, His lifestyle shows contempt by derision against God. Why? Because he exhibits a lack of respect accompanied by a feeling of intense dislike. A dislike of what? Or more accurately, of Who? An intense dislike of God: and not the god of his imagination, the God of the Bible.

Essentially, this is a prince to pauper story, or more accurately, a prince to sod story, where a prince in God’s kingdom spits upon his inheritance and takes the impossible and foolhardy position of declaring war on God. You only war with that which you hate. He hates the God of Abraham.

Only when we see this can we see the irrationality of it. And the transgender may pause to ask himself, “Why do I hate God?” Why do I hate a good and loving God that only wants the best for me? And why am I mocking Him? And perhaps then, he can see the futility of his path and turn towards reconciliation.

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life”. (Galatians 6:7-8 NIV)
